Answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions

  • My practice is primarily virtual (with the exception of intensives which are available in-person in Orlando, FL).

Working virtually allows me to see clients throughout Florida and Georgia. My clients have been surprised with how effective virtual therapy can be.

  • No, I do not accept insurance. All of my services are private pay. Clients can pay with a credit card, FSA, or HSA.

I can provide you with a detailed receipt, a super bill, for you file with directly with your insurance.

You may be eligible for out-of-network (OON) reimbursement from your insurance for counseling services. Since every provider and policy is different, I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your card and speak to a representative for details about your specific plan.

  • Missed and canceled sessions can negatively impact the effectiveness of treatment.

I hold your scheduled appointment time specifically for you and you alone. As such, if you join or arrive at a scheduled session late or you have to end a session early, the full fee will still be charged. Furthermore, I charge for missed appointments or appointments canceled with less than a 24 hour notice.

  • People mean very different things by the term “Christian Counselor”.

If you are asking about whether I use the Bible in session to tell you what to do, judge you, pray with clients as part of therapy, etc- the answer is NO. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and offer evidence-based practices. I do not offer Bible only Counseling.

If you are asking if I am a follower of Jesus and a Professional Counselor, then the answer is yes. As a professional counselor, I integrate Faith and faith-based approaches, meditations and exercises as much as the client requests.

  • Short answer is, if you don’t want it, we won’t go there. You get to decide how much, if any faith based interventions or conversations come into our work. This is your time.

Most of my clients identify as Christians (in various denominations and in various places with their faith journeys), and want to engage with their beliefs and acknowledge their spiritual values as we work.
