  • At the end of the day, you find yourself numbing with food, mindless videos and/or wine.

 You feel frustrated, tired, and irritated.

It’s like you have two operating modes: push-through and crash. You go through the motions crossing off the items on your to-do list until you can check out again. There seems to be no rest for the weary.  Sometimes you wonder if this is just your personality and your wiring. 

Well-meaning people have suggested books, podcasts, and apps and bible verses. They have said unhelpful things like “Just let it go", “don’t worry” or my personal favorite (sigh) “Just give your anxiety to Jesus” …you and I both know it’s not that simple and you would not be here if that advice had worked. 

You have tried: ignoring your racing thoughts, using distractions (exercise, work, and kids activities) to cope, and having just another pour of wine to take the edge off… You have lived in this state of being “on” for so long that your body doesn’t know another way.
