What is an Adjunctive intensive?
Adjunctive therapy is a strategic partnership to make your work smother, while supporting your client’s continued healing.
When you refer your client to an EMDR Therapy Intensive, I can come along side your work, build on the foundation that you and your client have laid, and offer and support for a focused, short-term and return the client to you!
Rest assured, I am not looking to steal your clients! As a matter of fact, one of the pre-requisites when screening a client for adjunctive therapy is that clients sign an agreement stating that they understand that our work is short-term and that that they will return their regular therapist for ongoing care.
By incorporating adjunct EMDR sessions, you’re not just adding a referral to your list — you’re offering a pathway to profound healing and transformation.
Together, we can create a therapeutic environment where breakthroughs are not just possible, but achievable. Let’s redefine what’s possible for your clients and your practice.
Working together is simple, here are the next steps.
1
Reach out & connect
Reach out for your complimentary colleague consultation and I will answer any questions you may have about Adjunct work. I get it, referring a client requires a level of trust in the other clinician. You know your client well and you want to make sure you have all the information you need prior to suggesting and Adjunctive referral. Feel free to ask me anything- my goal is to make sure that I am the right fit to offer this service to your client.
2
Pre-Intensive Support
I want the Adjunctive Intensive therapy to feel as seamless as possible for you and your client. With your client’s signed Release of Information, I will send you a short (3-5 item) questionnaire so that I can best serve your client. Here is a couple sample questions; Does your client resonate with parts or IFS language? What memories, thoughts, or body sensations do you think your client would benefit from addressing at this intensive?
3
Post-Intensive Summary
If your client has signed a Release of Information, I will send youI will send you a summary about 10 days after we complete the intensive. This summary with include the client’s named targets, their progress over the weekend, a short summary of each Intensive session and some of your client’s key take aways. Again, my goal is to make the entire process as seamless and beneficial for your ongoing clinical work with your client.
Find the partnership you’ve been seeking.

Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Therapy Intensives are different. A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!
