Insight alone hasn’t been enough.

Somatic Therapy, EMDR & Intensives in Orlando & Online with Rebeca Gilbert, LPC, LMHC

Faith-Based Somatic & EMDR Therapy for women

Hi, I’m Rebeca!

I see you. You’re stuck in patterns you thought you’d moved past. Memories still catch you off guard. And no matter how much you try to slow down and stay present—it’s hard.

I hear you. You’ve gathered so much insight. Between therapy, books, podcasts, and reflection, you know what’s going on. But applying it? That’s the part that still feels out of reach—and that’s frustrating.

There is another way forward.

I want to help you:

  • Feel safe, seen, and secure

  • Move towards clarity, meaning, and reclaiming your voice

  • Experience deep, whole-person change

Who I help & How I work

I work with women who are ready to go deeper—beyond talk therapy—and into real, lasting change. The women I work with are open to body-based approaches like eye movements, breathing, tapping, and nervous system regulation. They’re ready to connect what they know to how they actually live. Many are curious about how the brain and body work together (full disclosure: I’m a total brain nerd).

In our sessions, we slow down. We get curious about what’s happening right now—especially in moments of anxiety, shutdown, or overwhelm.Instead of judging those responses, we start to notice how your body’s been working hard to protect you.

You’ll learn to spot the early signs that something’s off—and how to respond with care instead of criticism. We’ll practice what it feels like to reset the internal alarm and give your system what it needs to come back to center.

It’s my honor to help clients name what hurts, release what’s stuck, and start to feel more at home in their bodies—maybe for the first time.

Clients often tell me they feel safe enough to go deep, and that they can feel the difference between sessions. They notice when they’re off, and they have tools that actually help.
They describe being kinder to themselves, calmer in their bodies, and more able to set boundaries without the usual guilt. They’re starting to feel more like themselves—and like that actually matters.

You might be wondering: what could be different this time?

You’ve read The Body Keeps the Score.
You’ve binged all the right podcasts (hi, Adam Young).
You’ve even done therapy before.

It’s not that you don’t have the insight—you’ve got plenty.

If anything, you have so much information, it’s hard to know where to start.
That’s where I come in.

I can keep up with your data. And I can help you slow down.

Am I the right therapist for you?

For therapy to work, you need to feel safe with your therapist.
Not just “understood”—but safe enough to show up fully: messy, brilliant, unfiltered, and real.

That’s what I want for you.

I show up with honesty and integrity—not a polished persona. I believe in earning the right to hear your story, not expecting it. And I’ll always invite you to come as you are.

If you’ve experienced trauma, racism, or other forms of harm—because of your race, gender, sexuality, faith, or identity—I know it may take time to trust. I’m here for that. You get to ask for what you need, including a referral, and I’ll honor that every time.

Let me help you move from collecting information to connecting the pieces.

As a trauma survivor, story-holder, and fellow human, I know what it’s like to grow up with messy layers—pain, abuse, religious trauma, chronic health issues.

I’m committed to creating spaces where people can move toward healing at their own pace, in their own way.

I believe that healing happens when the body feels safe and connected. And I’ve seen it—not just in my own life, but in the lives of the brave people I’ve had the honor of sitting with over the past 18+ years.

Clients describe me as warm, caring, and a straight shooter when needed. They appreciate that I hold the both/and of life—the pain and the goodness, the grief and the hope—without toxic positivity.

We often laugh and cry in the same session. We approach stories of harm with curiosity and care, naming how their bodies have carried pain… what they’ve survived… and what it looks like to finally move forward.

  • I have seen people move towards more clarity, purpose, confidence, and wholeness as they are understood as holistic people with minds, bodies, and souls.

EMDR is my primary approach to deep, evidence-based therapy.

EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based therapy that is effective in addressing PTSD and trauma. This brain-based approach helps the brain move through stuck places, thoughts, memories, and body sensations by using eye movements (tapping, pulsars, and other alternating stimuli).

EMDR is most effective when it integrates and honors the body/somatic and its experiences.

Somatic: I work from the principle that our bodies do not lie. Bodies hold memories and if you listen, tell stories too. If we did not grow up in a home that welcomed our anger, where did it go? Your shoulder? Your back? Your gut? What is tight, achy, and activated in your body?

Attachment Theory: The patterns that develop in as we seek to be safe, seen, secure, and connected in relationships. This is where we look at patterns and make sense of how they came to be, and how they are helpful; or how we responded when some (or all of those were not there consistently. Meaning and Purpose:

Meaning Making/Faith/Spirituality: Making meaning and integrating past experiences into our present is an important piece of healing. Our systems (mind-body-sprit) only “unlock” meaning-making when it is convinced that we are safe. It’s a survival strategy. This part often connects to faith and spiritual practices for folks as they consider what stories are going to tell themselves from now on. How do we make sense of our past, embrace our present, and stay open in the future?

You are ready for lasting change.

I want to help you get there.
