Hi, I’m Rebeca

EMDR & Somatic Therapy through Intensives and Extended Sessions
In-person in Orlando · Online across Florida, Georgia & Colorado

You’ve done a lot of work to understand yourself.

You’ve reflected.
You’ve learned.
You’ve tried to apply what you know.

And still—some patterns keep resurfacing.

That’s where this work becomes different.

A woman sitting cross-legged on a brown leather couch, smiling, wearing a blue denim jacket, black pants, and leopard print shoes, with a white, round decorative object and a stack of books beside her. Behind her is a white brick wall with three minimalist wall hangings and an olive branch on the right.

What it’s like to work together

In our work, the focus isn’t just on understanding what’s happening.

It’s on having enough space to stay with it—long enough for something to actually shift.

We’ll slow things down and get curious about what’s happening in real time:

  • moments of anxiety

  • shutdown

  • overwhelm

Not to judge them—but to understand how your system has been working to protect you. From there, we begin to work with those responses differently.

Not just talking about change—but creating the conditions for it.

The clients I work best with

I tend to work with women who:

  • have already done meaningful personal work

  • are insight-oriented but still feel stuck

  • carry a lot for others in leadership, ministry, or helping roles

  • are ready for a more focused, deeper approach

  • want to meet less often (for example monthly, instead of weekly) and still make progress

  • are drawn to understanding how the brain, body, and spirit work together (full disclosure: I’m a bit of a brain nerd)

What begins to change

Over time, clients often notice:

  • feeling more settled in their bodies

  • responding differently in situations that used to overwhelm them

  • being able to set boundaries with less guilt

  • a growing sense of clarity and self-trust

Not all at once. But in a way that builds, with intentional space—and lasts.

That was the moment I realized:

insight alone wasn’t enough.

I began exploring more body-based approaches, including EMDR and somatic work—not just as a therapist, but as someone who needed something different.

And the shift was significant.

It wasn’t about learning more.

It was about my body finally being able to process and settle in a way that talk therapy alone hadn’t been able to reach.

That experience changed how I practice.

It’s a big part of why I care so deeply about this work—because I’ve seen firsthand what becomes possible when your body is finally able to catch up to what you already understand.

If you’re interested in hearing more about my personal story, I’ve shared more in a few podcast conversations, check them out here.

How I show up

That experience continues to shape how I show up in this work. Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and a bit of a straight shooter when it’s needed. I’m not interested in a polished version of you- give me the messy bits—I care about what’s real.

We might laugh in one moment and sit with something heavy in the next.

We move at a pace that allows for depth—but also respects what your system is ready for.

And I’ll meet you there—with honesty, curiosity, and care.

A little about me

I came to this work through both my professional training and my personal experience.

I had been working as a therapist for many years when my husband was diagnosed with cancer.

That season changed everything.

Even with years of experience—and all the insight that comes with it—I found myself up against something I couldn’t think my way through.

I wasn’t afraid in the way people might expect.
But I was exhausted.
Not sleeping.
Holding a lot.

And my body began to respond in ways that didn’t match what I knew to be true.

What matters in this work

For therapy to be meaningful, you need to feel safe.

Not just understood—
but safe enough to show up fully.

Messy.
Brilliant.
Unfiltered.
Real.

That kind of safety takes space.

And it’s something we build together.

If you’re wondering if this could work for you

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

Just a sense that something isn’t shifting the way you hoped.

If that’s where you are, we can start there.
